ENGINEERING APPRENTICE

 

A world renown modern, fast paced a well-established international engineering manufacturing company, have a full-time position available for an Engineering Apprentice to be an integral member of their strong diverse production & fabrication teams, manufacturing a variety of precision CNC engineering machinery and multi process machines that combine machining operations like drilling and tapping with cutting operations

 

You will be required to undertake and/or assist with a wide variety of Metal Fabrication duties, under the guidance of their experienced team leaders, whilst working towards your Apprenticeship to become a Trade Qualified Sheetmetal Tradesperson (with a full Light Engineering qualification).

 

For this role enthusiastic, energetic, positive with a ‘can do’ attitude, mechanically minded, observant, willingness to learn the skills of the trade, ability to follow spoken & written instructions accurately, with attention to detail and a determination to succeed are most important. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, taking pride in your work and a reputation for being self-motivated, working to a very high standard with excellent time keeping and attendance.

If you have the following in your toolbox then we would like to hear from you:

  • Passion for the Engineering Sheetmetal industry
  • Some engineering experience is preferred
  • Work well under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Able to work well collaboratively as a team member
  • Strong commitment & focus to completing your course work
  • Hold a NCEA Level 2 or equivalent
  • Positive attitude, a team player & not afraid of a challenge
  • Demonstrate & maintain good Health & Safety practices as a top priority

 

General requirements we are looking for are:

  • Good Numeracy, verbal and written English skills
  • Clean NZ Driver’s license, reliable transport
  • Be medically and physically fit
  • Be currently living in and have the right to work in NZ (including NZ Work Visa)

 

Wage:             Neg dependant on previous skills and experience

Type:              Fulltime Permanent job

Misc                Medical scheme & overtime available

Location:        North Shore Auckland
