An opportunity for a Stainless Steel Sheetmetal Welder / Fabricator to join our team in a friendly social environment with flexible working hours in a clean and tidy workshop. The company has invested in their plant and equipment to ensure they can deliver the quality and service their customers expect.

Sheetmetal Welder Fab TIG Stainless Steel Light & Med gauge.
Dairy & Marine industry experience an advantage.
Perm job. Hamilton & West Akld. $30/hr. (overtime paid time & ½ )

  • Be either trade qualified in light fabrication or minimum 5 year’s experience in Stainless Steel fabrication
  • Excellent TIG Welding Skills a must
  • Light & Medium Gauge.
  • Dairy industry or marine industry experience an advantage.
  • TIG Welding Stainless Steel on Sheetmetal from 1mm to 3mm.
  • MIG Welding.
  • Experience using Sheetmetal machinery such as: Press Brake, Guillotine.
  • Have Sheetmetal working experience as in a jobbing shop.
  • Demonstrate a high level of fabrication skill and proficiency with attention to accuracy and appearance and able to weld to the NZS2980 standard
  • Show good understanding of engineering drawings and concepts that enable work to be completed as required
  • Exhibit efficient manufacturing methods in the production of components such as the design and making of jigs
  • Have knowledge of quality systems and follow our documentation requirements as set out in our ISO9001 procedures
  • Mentor and assistance of staff as required; sharing knowledge and information readily to develop future capability
  • Accurately account for hours spent on jobs via the use of our computerised time recording system
  • Display safe working practices while using workshop machinery and by adhering to our health and safety rules and procedures
  • Perform in a professional manner to maintain successful workplace relations.

 Duties would include:

  •  Pressing, rolling, forming and TIG welding of laser cut components
  • TIG welding and general fabrication of frame and pipe work
  • Working from engineering drawings to achieve the required tolerances and standard of finish

Locations:   West Auckland and Hamilton
Type:            Full Time Permanent position
Wage:           $30/hr neg. with experience
