Fleet Administrator (pre-hire checker) – Camper Vans

This job is permanent full time, with an established, very organized camper van hire company in Christchurch.

  • You would be working within a pre-hire checking team..
  • This job is the pre-hire checking, and other Certified Engineers check vehicles for mechanical worthiness before vans go out.
  • Some training will be given.
  • Week-end work with week days off, and working some public holidays in peak seasons.
  • Must be available and flexible and fit in with the workign hours.
  • The job covers checking and possibly changing tyres on a tyre machine.
  • Medical Aid Cover for all employees including covering pre-conditions – This is a real advantage.

This job could suits person who may have:

  • Worked as an auto mechanic before.
  • Is out of work and looking for a job in the industry.
  • A person who doesn’t want to be a mechanic any longer & looking for something similar but different.

The job would include – Checking:

  • Fridges
  • Stoves
  • Gas Tanks
  • Tyres
  • Chargers
  • Battery holding charge
  • Before van go out on hire all technical mechanical checks have to be completed.

The type of applicants who may suit this position include:

  • Someone certified in the auto industry, but not necessarily, and who may want a change
  • A person who may have gained auto experience via hobbies
  • May come from working at Repco type jobs

 Skills required:

  • Mechanically minded is a real advantage
  • Knowledge on plumbing, 12V & 240V electrics, LPG Gas fittings
  • Checking interiors of camper vans
  •  Location of job –  Christchurch
  • Wage – $19/hr neg with skills & experience plus overtime available
  • Permanent full time position
  • Start a.s.a.p.
  •  ***    Medical Aid Cover for all employees including covering pre-conditions..

Please note as mentioned above, but it is important to reiterate so that it is clear – there is some week-end work and some public holidays work as this is the nature of the hire of camper vans. All within reason and can be managed and worked around to suit employees.
